    What hardware do I need to use Shopify POS?

    To get started with Shopify, all you need is a Shopify card reader to accept payments and a tablet or smartphone to run the Shopify POS app. You can then add compatible accessories like barcode scanners, printers, and cash drawers to that, depending on your store's needs.

    Can I use the hardware I currently have with Shopify?

    Yes, you can use your own tablet or smartphone and your current hardware with Shopify POS. However, for a fully integrated experience, we recommend using Shopify hardware and software in conjunction. Shopify's payment hardware allows you to accept contactless and smart card payments, while benefiting from fast payouts and competitive rates through Shopify Payments.
